Emerging Mission Movements – "EMMs"

“Empowering people of all backgrounds to reach all nations”

EMM is about the raising up and mentoring of indigenous mission movements that are emerging in many of the church-rich nations of the Global South. We have already made small beginnings in Central African Republic, Indonesia, India, the Middle East, Brazil, Ethiopia, Korea, Burkina Faso and Rwanda.

How do we do this?

1. Imparting cross-cultural vision and skills. (Apostolic)
2. Sustained prayer and strategic mentoring. (Prophetic)
3. Creative finance generation. Business as Mission. (Entrepreneurial)

In our EMM work we choose to not create dependency by the unhelpful funding of workers. However we do want to stand in solidarity with the poor and enable creative financial solutions to be found to empower the emerging world mission force. We want to raise funds, but at the same time keep the freedom from the unhelpful bondages money can bring. We want to empower but at the same time honour the dignity of vulnerability. We want to be able to train key leaders, but only so that they can use their knowledge to serve in humility.

Some Results:

In Central African Republic, since 1993, we have been able to initiate and mentor a movement called “Nations en Marche.” They have trained up many missionaries and have planted churches amongst the unreached Pygmy tribes. At the moment they are seeing many Muslims come to the Lord through their ministry. We are also helping them establish a business school in Bangui.

Since 2003 we have been working with the “Ethiopian Full Gospel Believers Church” (“Mulu Wongel”) to envision for cross-cultural ministry, help with strategy, planning and logistics, bring training, particularly on cross-cultural issues to leaders and new workers, and mentor and encourage key leaders. They represent two million believers in hundreds of churches planted in key areas of the horn of Africa.

Since 2005 we have been working with SMI mission training school in Surabaya Indonesia. We have been able to envision hundreds of young Indonesian Christians with a vision for world mission and receive some of them into pioneer church planting activities in Cambodia.

Future Vision

We are challenged by the 160 million unreached Muslim people groups of Northern India, the challenges of the Sahel region, and many other lands.

We want to help strengthen our friends and partners, Raise the Banner (India), Ensemble (Sahel) and many others to see hundreds of workers released to work in these key areas.

We aim to raise up a group of EMM partners who could help us in mentoring and training these hundreds of workers. We are looking to partner with people who are skilled in Biblical and cross cultural teaching, have an intercessory heart to pray or have business skills that might be passed on to others. If you could give a couple of weeks (or longer) to this do get in contact with us.

We also aim to see a new season of provision that will create a fund to finance the travel, training and various projects that we will be involved in.

Join us, as together we glimpse something of the fulfilment of Ezekiel’s vision in the valley of dry bones. (37:10). People are coming together. A new wind is blowing, faith is building and mighty armies are rising from some of the most challenging situations on earth.
