We believe life is one big adventure

and that every person has the potential to pioneer new ways of doing new things and to explore what God has for them.

We have customized our training programs to work for different people in different phases of life.

Our dream is to see passionate followers of Jesus from around the world become disciple-makers in the nations.

The world is always changing, and so is our training.  We offer different pathways for training in different parts of the world.

Pioneer Initiative

Looking for adventure? Willing to jump into the unknown?

Join the Pioneer Initiative – nine months of dedicated training, followed by two years devoted to living in one of the most spiritually and culturally challenging locations on earth.

World Horizons is an intergenerational and culturally diverse international movement. Together in teams, we seek to share the Gospel with people who have never heard it and in areas where there is little or no active church presence. We serve in a wide variety of contexts, from major cities and urban neighbourhoods to some of the world’s most remote, challenging, and sometimes dangerous regions.

The Pioneer Initiative strengthens this core vision; equipping teams to explore new territories. Teams will live among a people group where most have never heard the name of Jesus. They will form strong, supportive communities, seeking creative ways to bring Jesus to those who, as yet, don’t know of his love for them.

Join us in West Virginia, USA, for our next training programme, beginning in July 2027. If you’re interested in taking part, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch to register your interest and stay updated as details are announced.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’

East Med training montage

Training – East Med Intensive

Grow in knowledge, experience and character
An intensive, residential ministry‑training program located in the Eastern Mediterranean, designed to equip both men and women for effective service among Muslim communities.

Every September, we welcome students from the Eastern Mediterranean, Central Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas to form a vibrant community. Together, we commit to a transformed way of living—one that empowers us to make a meaningful impact on the world around us.

Rich Heritage
Drawing on the rich heritage of the historic monastic communities in this region, we embrace a shared commitment to God and to one another. We seek to cultivate an environment where students grow in knowledge, deepen in experience, and mature in character.

Three Months to Grow–Three Months to Go
During the training, students receive classes on the Bible, theology, spiritual formation and discipleship, Islam, church history, and cross‑cultural ministry. A three‑month journey of formation, followed by an optional three‑month internship serving alongside teams throughout the Muslim world.

Community-Based Training
At the heart of our training is life together. We believe character is formed in community. As we share daily rhythms, we practice generosity, humility, forgiveness, reconciliation, vulnerability, sacrifice, and service—disciplines that shape us for a life of faithful ministry.

East Med harbour

Information

Location

Our community is based on a diverse island in the Eastern Mediterranean, where training takes place in an urban setting near the coast. Students live together and share a daily rhythm of prayer, cooking, work, service, and study.

A Rhythm of Shared Life

Classes are held on the property, and work responsibilities take place in the garden or in our coffee‑roasting area. This shared rhythm forms the backdrop for learning, character development, and community.

Coffee Training

We have our own coffee roaster and espresso machine, giving students hands‑on experience with the world of coffee—from origins and brewing methods to espresso, filter coffee, Turkish coffee, and roasting. This training equips students with a practical skill that can help sustain them financially in ministry while also blessing the island community through our small business.
