Prayer Month 2026
January is our annual World Horizons month of prayer! This year we are focusing on sharpening our spiritual senses and journeying through the book of Nehemiah as we seek God together. We would love you to join us in prayer.
A lasting impact
Joanna tells us about the month she took part in World Horizons ‘Impact’ programme, what she experienced and how that made an impression on her.
Tim and Cath: From the UK to the Pyrenees, in our sixties
‘You will be my witnesses… in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ (Acts 1:8)
For World Horizons members, Tim and Cath, that meant leaving the UK and beginning a new chapter in the Basque Country of France. Their story reminds us that God’s call can come at any stage of life – and always leads to new discoveries of His faithfulness.
Noah and Martha: To the ends of the Arabian desert
Even in unexpected places, God is at work. Noah and Martha’s journey in the Gulf shows how God’s mission reaches the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
Jader and Eliane: From the Sahara Desert to the Amazon Delta
Our third Acts 1:8 story is from Jader, who previously served in West Africa and North Africa, and has been back in Brazil working among the Amazonian people for the past four years.
Bev: From the UK to the nations and back again
Our second Acts 1:8 story is from Bev, who first served in the Middle East and Spain, and has been back in the UK in Luton for the past ten years.
Mike: Serving locally in South Wales
We are excited to share with you stories from our members in the coming weeks who have gone on their own versions of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth as Jesus commissioned us in Acts 1:8.

The Dead Goat
The militant Islamist insurgency is background to much that is happening in West Africa. As well as suffering brought to Muslims and Christians alike with millions of people forced to flee their homes, the church is increasingly targeted. Several of our friends have been attacked, kidnapped, or killed. But in many places, the church continues to stand, and to reach out with love and the gospel.
